That’s the domain of Hamilton Place Travel and its sister company Waverley Professional Travel, who have been based at 6 Hamilton Place in the Mount Waverley Shopping Centre since 2001.
Their team of dedicated consultants is led by Karen Johnson, who has a 37 year association with the travel industry, including 32 years with Waverley Professional Travel. She is ably assisted by Sue Ritter and Caron Marsh, who have worked in the travel business for 25 and 30 years respectively.
Hamilton Place Travel offers the full gamut of everything you need when booking your holiday of a lifetime such as flights, accommodation, cruise, rail, car, sightseeing and insurance.
“We have some clients that prefer to book tours and cruises and then we have others who prefer to book FIT – which is where we book accommodation and car hire for them separately, tailoring a package to meet their individual needs. We provide a bespoke travel service,” Karen said.
While Hamilton Place Travel are specialists in tailor made itineraries, they can arrange holiday packages for business and corporate groups as well.
“We have a loyal client base which have been with us for many years, which also leads to new referrals.” Karen stated. “Our business is mainly retail and mainly from the Mount Waverley area.”
“Our biggest destination is Europe and predominantly the UK, France, Italy and Spain, but Japan is also very popular at the moment. Viking Cruises to almost anywhere in the world are high on people’s wish lists.”
Karen said: “At Hamilton Place Travel we enjoy putting together an itinerary that suits the client. We are part of a buying group, but the buying group doesn’t control what we sell. We sell what the client wants.
“We love what we do. We really enjoy when people come back and tell us that they’ve had a wonderful holiday. That’s where the satisfaction comes. For some people an extended European trip once they’ve retired is something that they have planned to do for their whole lives, so it’s a big responsibility to get that right.”
